Sopore encounter: Security forces kill one militant, operation underway

Srinagar, Sep 9 (IBNS): One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between the security forces and the militants in Baramulla's Sopore of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning, media reports said.

The encounter is still underway, report said.

The security forces started an encounter after suspecting the presence of militants in a particular area of Sopore.

The encounter has occurred just on the day when Home minister Rajnath Singh will begin his four-day state visit.

Singh will visit Srinagar, Anantnag, Jammu and Rajouri to meet the members of the civil society, businessmen and local politician.
