Strike ends, life returns to normal in Kashmir’s Shopian, Pulwama

Srinagar, Apr 3 (UNI): Life returned to normal on Wednesday after remaining paralysed for two days due to strike in Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir.

Shops and business establishments reopened this morning and traffic was plying on all routes normally. Work in government offices and educational institutions was also normal. However, additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed at sensitive places to ensure any law and order.

Even though there was no strike by any organisations, life remained crippled for two successive days on Monday and Tuesday.

Four local militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), including a top commander, were killed and four security force personnel injured in a fierce encounter which ensued during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at village Lassipora in Pulwama on Monday.
