New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): The Supreme Court has refused to lift the Election Commission (EC)'s ban on the release of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic, PM Narendra Modi, media reports said.

Refusing to lift the ban, the top court said: "It is the business of the Election Commission."

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi-headed an apex court bench said it won't "entertain" the plea filed by the film's producer against the EC's order.

Earlier, the EC has banned the film's release considering it as a "hagiography" and said it would disturb the level-playing field in the election season.

In the film, actor Vivek Oberoi has essayed the role of the Prime Minister.

PM Narendra Modi traces the BJP's poster boy's life journey from childhood to his days as the Gujarat Chief Minister and also the journey as the Prime MInister.

The 2002 Gujarat riot also features in the trailer, which was released by the filmmakers.
