SUV collides with truck in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur, 2 die

At least two people were killed and eight others were injured when an SUV carrying pilgrims collided with a truck in the Vindhyachal area of Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, police sources said.

Police sources said that the incident took place when 10 pilgrims from Korea district in Chhattisgarh were going to Prayagraj to take a bath in Sangam.

"Near Semari village, the driver of the SUV dozed off, and the vehicle collided with the truck," they said.

Police sources said that all the pilgrims were injured in the incident and were taken to the community health center, where they were referred to the trauma center.

"Two people identified as Hulaso (45) and Samer (55) were killed in the incident," they said.
