TDP, Trinamool fight over Parliament room

| | Aug 12, 2014, at 10:06 pm
New Delhi, Aug 12 (IBNS) A scuffle almost broke out between the MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Parliament premises over a room allocated to TMC that was in possession of TDP for a long time.

On Tuesday, TMC took control of the room removing the TDP board, armed with the possession letter by the Speaker's Office as shown by TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay.

He said: "We are only obeying the direction of the honorable Speaker's Office. Her office has directed us to take possession of Room Number. 5. We have 46 MPs but we had no where any position to sit. TDP has been allotted a room on the third floor, bigger than this one."

TDP said there must have been a misunderstanding.

TDP Office Secretary Satya Narayan said they would settle the matter.
