Teenage Maratha girl ends life demanding reservation for her community

Ahmednagar, Sept 11 (IBNS): A class 11 Maratha girl allegedly committed suicide on Monday, demanding reservation for her community.

The incident took place in Ahmadnagar district of the state.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Kishori Baban Kakade.

She was a student of Radhabai Kale women's college.

According to a Press Trust of India report, the deceased was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room at around 3 p.m.

Police told the news outlet that the suicide note, prepared by the girl, said that she sacrificed her life while demanding reservation for the Maratha community.

She also wrote that she was subjected to discrimination due to her caste.
