Tejashwi Yadav meets Rahul Gandhi, says 'committed to take nation out of fear'

New Delhi, Jun 8 (IBNS): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has met with Congress president Rahul Gandhi and said the two are committed to take the country "out of fear".

Tejashwi took to Twitter to share couple of pictures with Rahul.

In one of the pictures, Tejashwi said: "Fruitful meeting with @RahulGandhi Ji. Bliss was it to be in that dawn..to be young was all the more heaven. We are committed to take nation out of the climate of fear generated by this regime. Watch out! Shall come out wth a committed programme for farmers,youth,women,poor..."

"We are here not to form govts but to transform the lives of the downtrodden people against the wishes of current right wing authoritarian regime. Our togetherness is aimed at protecting constitution,secular-democratic values & goals of Social Justice. We shall fight, we shall win" the RJD leader said in an earlier post.

Tejashwi met with Rahul days after showcasing a united Opposition at the swearing-in ceremony of Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru.

Talks are also going on about a possible united Opposition at the national level to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The RJD and the Congress along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) fought the state polls in 2015 together and had defeated the BJP.

However in 2017, the JD(U) jumped ship to align with the BJP to run the state government.

The RJD and the Congress are still in an alliance.

Very recently in Bihar's Jokihat assembly seat, the RJD, which is presently under the leadership of Tejashwi in absence of imprisoned Lalu Prasad, defeated the JD(U).
