Telangana: CM instructs CS to release water from Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar to save crop

Hyderabad, Mar 2 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instructed Chief Secretary S K Joshi to release water from Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar to save the crops in lakh acres in Khammam District.

The Chief Minister has taken this decision on the request of Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeria, an official statement here said.

Veeriah met Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday. He informed Chief Minister that in Sattupally, Khammam, Paleru, Vyra, Madhira Constituencies lakh acres of land is under cultivation.

The water is required for these crops, he said and requested Rao to release water for 10 days from Nagarjuna Sagar Left canal and save the crops.

He also submitted representation to Chief Minister.

Acting on it, Rao positively responded and instructed for release of water.
