Telangana student found dead in London, family seeks clarity on circumstances

S Srinath Reddy, a resident of Kamareddy district, had moved to the United Kingdom around 14 months ago to pursue higher studies, media reports said.

His body was discovered by his roommate on Tuesday morning, according to relatives.

Roommate's claim, family awaits official findings

According to a relative quoted by news agency PTI, the roommate claimed that Reddy had died by hanging.

The relative also alleged that the roommate informed Reddy's friends about the death much later.

However, Reddy's father, Madhusudan Reddy, said the exact circumstances surrounding his son's death remain unclear and that the family is awaiting the outcome of the official investigation.

'He spoke to us normally'

Madhusudan Reddy told reporters in Talamadla village that his son had spoken to the family the night before he was found dead and that the conversation appeared completely normal.

He said Srinath had attended a birthday party that evening and there was nothing during their conversation to indicate that anything was amiss.

Family appeals for help to bring the body home

The grieving father has appealed to both the Central and Telangana governments for assistance in bringing his son's body back to India.

Meanwhile, crowdfunding efforts have been launched to support the family with the expenses involved in repatriating the body.

Pursuing Master's degree in Leicester

According to a GoFundMe page created for the family, Srinath Reddy was pursuing a master's degree at De Montfort University in Leicester.

The page states that he came from a humble background and that his family had financed his overseas education through an education loan and money borrowed from relatives.

The fundraiser aims to help cover the cost of bringing his body back to India so that his family can perform his last rites.

The official cause of death has not yet been announced, and investigations are continuing.
