Telecom consumers' interest top priority: Ravi Shankar Prasad
New Delhi, May 29 (IBNS): Communications & IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday laid stress on consumer issues to be given top priority.
Interacting with the senior officers of the Department of Telecommunications at the Sanchar Bhawan, Prasad advised the Ministry officials to follow the objective of national interest, economic growth and consumer interest.
The Telecom Minister advised the officials to come out with new ideas and initiatives so that this government could make itself known for a Broadband Highway revolution.
Prasad asked the officials to shun any fear in decision making and said that the government shall fully back the honest decision making.
He laid down three main criteria for better governance that should include prompt decision making, fairness and transparency and having clearly laid down rules of business.
The minister also promised to look into the issues connected with the human resources of the Ministry.
