Srinagar, Sept 21 (IBNS): After being kidnapped, three Special Police Officers (SPOs) were killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian area on Friday morning, media reports said.

The terrorists had kidnapped four cops in total. Out of four, one was rescued by the villagers, a Home Ministry official told NDTV.

Police told media that the terrorists had barged into the houses of the policemen in Kapran village and dragged them out.

The Home Ministry official was quoted by the outlet as saying: "Terrorist are under pressure as they are not able to execute anything big. Protest politics and stone-pelting has come down. So they are taking out their frustration by targeting policemen in their houses."

The terrorists had allegedly warned the policemen and asked them to resign.

The latest incident occurred just days after three policemen and eight relatives of police personnel, who were kidnapped by terrorists in south Kashmir, were set free.

They were set free after the Jammu and Kashmir police released several family members of the terrorists.
