New Delhi/IBNS: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday tried to corner the government by saying that it is not taking the coronavirus threat seriously.

" The Corona Virus is an extremely serious threat to our people and our economy. My sense is the government is not taking this threat seriously. Timely action is critical," Gandhi tweeted.

China witnessed a massive outbreak of the Coronavirus for the past couple of weeks.

It has claimed over 1000 deaths so far in the country.

Wuhan city of China has been badly hit by the disease and it is being considered as the epicenter of it.

The Indian government evacuated over 600 Indians from China’s Wuhan city on Jan 31 and Feb 1.

So far, three positive cases of coronavirus were reported from Indian state of Kerala.

Gandhi is an MP from Wayanad seat in Kerala.
