Three coaches of Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express catch fire

Guwahati, Jun 9 (IBNS): Three coaches of Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express caught fire at Silchar railway station in Assam’s Cachar district on Sunday morning.

The passenger train was stationed at Silchar railway station when the fire caught three coaches.

As per reports, the fire first broke out at the pantry car of the passenger train and later speared to two other coaches triggering panic among the passengers waiting outside the platform.

Following the incident, the Silchar Fire Service and SDRF personnel immediately reached the spot and efforts are on to douse the flames.

There is no report of any human casualty in the incident.

Meanwhile, the fire is brought under control.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
