Three drugs peddlers arrested in Guwahati, huge quantity heroin recovered

Guwahati, Sept 25 (IBNS): Guwahati City Police arrested three drugs peddlers and recovered huge quantity of drugs worth of Rs 50 lakh from two locations in the capital city of Assam in the past 24 hours.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input the crime branch of Guwahati city police launched operation at Dispur Capital Lodge hotel on Monday morning and arrested two drugs peddlers.

Police recovered around 135 grams heroin worth of Rs 50 lakh in possession from them.

The arrested persons were identified as Majibur Rahman and Karmat Ali and both hail from Karimganj district.

“They arrived in the city on Monday morning and took a rented room of the hotel,” a police official said.

On the other hand, city police arrested another drugs peddler identified as James Brahma from Beltola area in the city on Sunday evening.

Police recovered several packets heroin in possession from him.
