Three held for murdering RSS activist in Guruvayur, Kerala

Guruvayur, Nov 14 (IBNS): Three people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) activist, Nenmini Anand, in Kerala's Guruvayur, media reports said.

The probe is still underway.

Anand on Sunday was knocked down by a car and the assailants, who were taking a ride, later hacked the activist to death.

The activist was knocked down by the car near Nenmini Balaraman temple.

Anand was the second accused in the murder of DYFI activist Faizal, who was killed in 2013.

According to the reports, the assailants could not get into the car due to the fear of being caught. Later the accused persons took a bike by pushing down its rider.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, as a mark of protest, called a strike in Guruvayur on Monday.

In one of the recent incidents, in August, an RSS worker was hacked to death by a group of assailants. While police had said that there was personal enmity, the BJP alleged the hand of the CPI(M).

The family of Rajesh, the slain RSS activist,  had blamed the ruling CPI(M) for his death.
