Srinagar/UNI: Three more youths were timely prevented from going astray in the north Kashmir district of Bandipora by police and family members, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

He said information was received that three youths from Sumbal in Bandipora are planning to join militancy after leaving their homes.

However, police along with other security agencies with the help of family members made hectic efforts to prevent the youths from taking a violent path.

Finally, all the three youths were prevented from joining militancy and later they were counselled before handing over them to their parents.

The youth promised to lead a normal life now.

With this, a total of about 25 youths were prevented from joining militancy in the Kashmir valley this year. Majority of them were from south Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman has urged parents to keep a close watch on the activities of their children and prevent them from being misguided by negativity.

Stay alert, stay safe, the spokesman said to parents and further urged them to guide, counsel and remain in touch with children.
