Three persons held with six pistols in Nagaland’s Tuensang

Guwahati: Nagaland police arrested three persons and recovered six pistols from them in Tuensang district.

According to the reports, the local Intelligence Unit of SP office, Tuensang and personnel of Shamator police station intercepted one motorcycle at Wapher village and apprehended two occupants, who were found carrying 6 country-made pistols of .32 caliber and 6 magazines in their possession.

Police also seized cash amounting to Rs 8600 and two mobile phones from them.

Further based on the statements given by the two accused persons, another individual was arrested from High Bridge, Sekiur.

He was supposed to receive the illegal arms. An amount of Rs 33000 and 11 numbers of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules were recovered from his possession.

Tuensang district Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Nigam said that, a case (no – 03/2021) has been registered at Shamator police station under section 120 (B) of IPC, R/W 25 (1) (a)/25 (1B) of Arms Act R/W 22 (a) NDPS Act R/W 181 MV Act.
