Three top separatist leaders arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 16 (IBNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested separatist leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in Srinagar.

According to reports, the arrests were made when the three pro-freedom Hurriyat leaders came out from Geelani's Hyderpora  residence to hold a press conference.

They have been taken to the Humhama police station.

Informed sources said at the press conference the leaders were scheduled to call for a boycott of the forthcoming by-elections to the Lok Sabha in the state.

Police have reportedly assaulted many photojournalists working with Local, National and International Media,who had gone to cover  the press conference.
