Time for 'Pathan' Imran Khan to keep his words: Narendra Modi on Pulwama

Tonk, Feb 23 (IBNS): Challenging his Pakistani counterpart from an election campaign in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said it is the time for Imran Khan, who called himself a 'Pathan', to keep his words by bringing all those responsible for the Pulwama terror attack to justice.

Sharing one of his experiences, Modi said: "As per my protocol, I had called Imran Khan after he became the Prime Minister. I had urged him to fight against poverty and illiteracy. Khan had replied saying that he is a son of a Pathan (an ethnic group with deep sense of honour), he never lies. Now it is the time to test his words."

The Prime Minister's words followed India's drastic steps against Pakistan over the Pulwama attack, which had left over 40 Indian paramilitary personnel martyred last year. The attack was carried out by Pakistan-based militant organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Taking strong actions, India withdrew Most Favoured Nation (MFN) of Pakistan, hiked the export duties on goods coming from the neighbour to 200 per cent and also said it will block the flow of its share of waters from eastern rivers to Pakistan.

In the sports arena, India is thinking not to play Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup 2019.

Also the country has denied visas to two Pakistani players who were qualified in the Olympic.

Though India blamed Pakistan for the attack, Khan denied his country's role in it.

The Pakistani Prime Minister said he will take action if India can furnish proofs of his country's involvement in it.

Warning India, Khan had also said: "If India begins a war, Pakistan won't hold back but retaliate. It is easy to start a war but not to end."
