TMC youth leaders 'attacked' in Tripura, BJP blamed for the incident

Agartala/IBNS: Three youth leaders of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) were allegedly attacked in Tripura's Dhalai district while they were travelling in a car Saturday.

The three leaders- Debangshu Bhattcharya, Sudip Raha and Jaya Dutta, were travelling in a car which was found vandalised.

The TMC leaders allege the attack was carried out by the ones who belong to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Raha claimed he was hit on head while some pictures, tweeted by the TMC, show Dutta was purportedly having blood stains on her face.

Slamming the BJP, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee tweeted, "The GOONS of @BJP4Tripura have shown their TRUE COLOURS! This barbaric attack on Trinamool workers reveals the 'GOONDA RAJ' in #Tripura under @BjpBiplab's Govt.! Your threats and attacks only prove your inhumanity. DO WHAT YOU CAN.. Trinamool will not budge an INCH!"

Reacting to the incident, West Bengal BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said the TMC leaders were doing “drama”.

The incident occurred days after Abhishek Banerjee flew to Tripura to strengthen his party organisation, giving a call to oust the BJP government in the 2023 state polls.
