Trending Now: BJP twists Bella Ciao to 'Pishi Jao' to counter Mamata's 'Bengal wants its daughter'

Kolkata/UNI: 'Pishi Jao' (Aunty leave) has now become the opposition BJP's war cry in poll bound Bengal.

The animated video film recreates the famous "Bella Ciao" song that recently gained popularity again after it was featured in the hit Netflix series "Money Heist".

The saffron party, eager to capture power in this state where it garnered 18 parliamentary seats in 2019, uploaded this peppy number, possibly banking on the people's love for songs of all genres.

Assembly elections to Bengal's 294 seats are set to be announced soon.

Many felt the song was in answer to Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's slogan of 'Bengal wants its own daughter'. The party has repeatedly been asking people not to vote in 'outsiders', a euphemism for the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo.

In the 1.49 minute video BJP talks about "all the problems" plaguing the state under the Banerjee rule and demands 'Pishi' leave.

Pishi is Bengali word for paternal aunt. Incidentally, Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek, an MP from Diamond Harbour, is viewed by many as the heir apparent.

Shared on Saturday evening, the video already has more than 18,000 views.
