Two men thrashed on suspicion of theft in Bokaro, one dead, another serious

Bokaro/UNI: An angry mob beat up two men when they were allegedly trying to steal items from a bike and car service center near Gobindpur colony under Bokaro Thermal Police Station area of this district.

One of the men identified as Mubarak Ansari (45) died while his companion Akhtar Ansari (40) was admitted at the Bokaro General Hospital.

Both of them are residents of Nai Basti of BTPS Police Station area.

Police said that the locals claimed the duo were trying to steal battery and electric motor from a bike and car service center.

The owner of the shop raised an alarm after which the locals gathered and tied them to a pole and beat them up.

Somehow police got to know about the incident and rescued them. They were rushed to the hospital where Mubarak Ansari was declared dead by the doctors.

Post the incident, police took the service center owner identified as Hemlal Mahto and three others into custody for questioning.

As a precautionary measure police force has been deployed at Gobindpur colony and the near by areas.
