Two militants killed in South Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, July 30 (IBNS): At least two local militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Tahab area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Sunday morning.

According to reports, Army and Special Operation Group of Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Tahab area of Pulwama on late last night after getting tip-off about the presence of some militants.

"When search party zeroed in the house, the exchange of fire began and which continued for 15 mins resulting in the death of two local militants," said police officer.

Identity of both militants was not immediately known.

Cordon and searches were on in the area when last reports came.
