Two schoolchildren drown in Maharashtra

Parbhani, Maharashtra, Apr 25 (UNI): Two school children drowned in a pond at Kurahdi Shivar in Jintur taluka of the district in Marathwada region on Wednesday, police said.

Police sources said that the victims - Karan Subhash Nikalje (8) and Pawan Aadhe (14) - had gone swimming when the accident took place.

As soon as they jumped into the pond, they got stuck in the silt and drowned, police said.

Villagers later fished out the bodies, the cops added.
