UP: BSP expels 2 senior legislators

Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati has expelled two senior party legislators including the leader of the party in the state assembly for alleged anti-party activities.

Leader of the party in the assembly Lalji Verma and MLA Ramachal Rajbhar were expelled for indulging in anti-party activities during the panchayat polls, BSP said in a statement here on Thursday.

Verma is an MLA from Kateheri and Rajbhar from Akbarpur seat, both in Ambedkarnagar district. Mr Rajbhar is also the former UP BSP president.

The BSP has also appointed Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali , two-time MLA from Mubarakpur assembly segment in Azamgarh district as the leader of the party in the state assembly.

The BSP has warned the party leaders and workers not to invite these two leaders in any party functions and said that these two MLAs would not be given tickets in any elections in future, the statement added.
