Badaun, Jan 18 (IBNS): A constable has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district after he was accused of throwing off a teenager girl from the roof of a police station following his attempt to rape her, media reports said.

The victim herself levelled the allegations against the constable.

The girl, who is a Class 12 student, has sustained serious injuries on her head and back and fractures in her pelvic bone.

She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bareilly.

"The incident occurred on January 15 at the Ujhani police station. The mother of the teen alleged that the accused, Gaurav Tytler had called her daughter - who had left home for tuition in the evening - to the police station where he is posted," NDTV channel reported.

Based on preliminary enquiry, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the constable, with charges of attempt to murder.
