UP: Six of a family killed as school bus collides with SUV

Ghaziabad: Six members of a family, including two women and two children, were killed and two others injured when a school bus collided with an SUV in Crossing Republic area of Ghaziabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a police officer said here.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ramanand Kushwaha said that the incident took place on Delhi-Meerut expressway around 6 am when the school bus coming from the wrong side collided with the SUV.

"Six persons, all residents of Ichauli area in Meerut district, were killed in the incident," he said.

He said that the deceased have been identified as Narendra Yadav (45), his wife Anita Yadav (42), son Kartik (12), sister-in-law Babita (35) and her son Vansh (7).

"The victims were on their way to Rajasthan when the incident took place. Two persons were injured in the incident and have been admitted to the hospital," he said.

The ADCP said that the bus driver has been arrested.
