Uttar Pradesh: Body of student recovered from Gomti River in Jaunpur

JaunpurUNI: The body of a student was recovered from the Gomti River in the Line Bazar area, here on Saturday.

The family of the student have suspected murder.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajkaran Nayyar here said that a body was recovered from the Gomti river this morning. The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar (25), son of Rajpati, a resident of Basratha village in the Gaurabadshahpur area.

He said that Pawan was living with his maternal grand-parents in the Abhaychandpatti village in the Bakhsha area and was studying in the TD Degree College. He had also recently fought elections from the college. He had gone missing from his home on Friday.

The body has been sent for post-mortem. The family has suspected murder.

The exact reason behind the death will be ascertained through the autopsy report.
