Uttar Pradesh: Businessman shot dead in Barabanki

Barabanki: The body of a businessman, who was shot dead by unidentified miscreants, was recovered from a hut near his factory in Baddupur area of Barabanki district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that Jai Prakash (50), a resident of Bara Gaon, owned a factory manufacturing bricks for interlocking.

"According to the villagers Jai Prakash instead at his house slept in the hut near the factory on Monday night," sources told UNI.

"On Tuesday morning, when workers went inside the hut they found Jai Prakash's body with a bullet injury in the head," they said.

Police sources preliminary inquiry revealed that Jai Prakash only had a sister in his family.

"He owned around 40 bigha land. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Kumar Singh inspected the spot and the matter is being investigated from different angles," they said.
