Uttar Pradesh: Couple dies as car hits bike in Farrukhabad

Farrukhabad: A couple was killed when a motorcycle was hit by a car in Mohammadabad area of Farrukhabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that Santosh Kumar Sharma alias Sanju (48), a resident of Shivaji Nagar locality in Mohammadabad, along with his wife Urmila (38) went to offer prayers at Khatu Shyam temple in Sakwai village in the morning.

Police sources told UNI that while the couple was returning back home a car coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle on Bewar-Bareilly highway. "The couple sustained serious injuries in the accident and were taken to the community health center where doctors declared them dead," they said.

Incharge of Mohammadabad police station Anil Kumar Chaubey said that the car involved in the accident has been impounded. "The bodies of Sanju and Urmila have been sent to district hospital in Fatehgarh for post mortem examination," he said.

Police sources said that Sanju owned an electronics shop in Mohammadabad town.
