Uttar Pradesh: Police book Samajwadi Party candidate for alleged murder

Lucknow, Feb 13 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh police on Monday booked Samajwadi Party MLA, Arun Kumar Verma from Sultanpur for the alleged murder of a woman who charged him with gang-rape in 2013, according to media reports.

The woman's body was found her near her home on Sunday, media reported.

According to media reports, the woman's father lodged a complain for murder against the sitting MLA and candidate from Sultanpur Sadar.

Reportedly, the woman had withdrawn her complaint against Arun Kumar and the police chargesheeted some local youths in the matter.

The case is under trial.
