Agra: Two persons were arrested by the police on Wednesday for the murder of two brothers and father allegedly over a property dispute in Kagarol area of Agra district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr Pritinder Singh said that Vijay Prakash alias Karua and Harveer alias Kanha were arrested for murder of their brothers Som Prakash, Hemraj and father Rajendra.

"The accused attacked their father and brothers with a sharp-edged weapon over a property dispute on Tuesday," he said.

He said that while Som Prakash and Hemraj died on the spot, father Rajendra succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

"Several teams were constituted to nab the accused and two of them were arrested in the morning and the weapon used in the triple murder has been recovered. One more accused is still absconding," he said.

The CP said that other than Rajendra and his five sons, his daughter-in-law Arti was also present in the house at the time of the incident.

"She had locked herself inside a room when the incident occurred and it was Arti, who informed the police," he said.
