Uttar Pradesh: Two youths from Nepal held with currency worth 10 lakhs in Siddharthnagar

Siddharthnagar, Jul 13 (UNI) Two motorcycle-borne youths from Nepal were arrested with Indian and Nepal currency worth over Rs 10 lakh recovered from their possession by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Kakrahwa town situated at the international border of Nepal lying close to this district in Uttar Pradesh, official sources said on Saturday.

Sources here said when the youths were stopped for checking while entering Nepal, Indian currency worth Rs 4.51 lakhs and Nepal currency worth Rs 5.60 lakhs was recovered from them. The duo also could not furnish any documents related to the currency.


According to sources, the duo have been identified as Ram Chandar and Rohit and are the residents of Pachberwa village in the Rupandehi district of Nepal.


Both the youths have been handed over to the Customs Department along with the recovered currency.
