Uttar Pradesh: Woman shot dead in Farrukhabad

Farrukhabad: A 45-year-old woman was shot dead by unidentified persons in the Mau Darwaja area of Farrukhabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said.

Police sources said that Geeta, a resident of Gutasi village, was shot dead while she had gone in connection with some work in the morning.

"When Geeta did not return, her husband Arun Gangwar and son Aryan launched a search, during which her body was found in the field," they said.

Police sources said that the body has been sent for a postmortem examination.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dr Sanjay Singh said that the matter was being investigated and that the case would be worked out soon.
