New Delhi, Sep 2 (IBNS): Union Minister Kalraj Mishra confirmed on Saturday that he has resigned ahead of the expected Union Cabinet reshuffle, according to media reports.

He was the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Union Cabinet.

The media quoted Mishra as saying that he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and tendered his resignation.

Talking to the media, Mishra said that he had expressed his desire to resign earlier too but the party had asked him to stay on because he was needed for campaigning during the Uttar Pradesh elections.

It was reported on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was planning a Cabinet reshuffle and the motion was set in process with as many as six ministers resigning.
