WB infant deaths: 5 more new-born die in Malda hospital

Malda, July 13 (IBNS): A day after seven new-born babies died in the Malda Medical College and Hospital in Malda district of West Bengal, five more infant deaths were reported on Sunday.
The toll reached 12 in a span of two day.
 
On Saturday, media reports said the babies died from poor healthcare facilities and it all occurred within a span of 24 hours.
 
Media reports quoting Hospital deputy superintendent Jyotish Das said the infants were all suffering from low birth weight, malnutrition and respiratory problems.
 
Several infant deaths were reported from the same hospital in June.
