WB: Miscreant killed in gun battle with police

Kolkata, Oct 18 (IBNS): A miscreant was killed during a gun battle between the police and goons at Belur's Jay Bibi Lane area in Howrah district of West Bengal in the wee hours of Sunday, reports said.
According to reports, few miscreants attacked a police patrolling jeep at Jay Bibi Lane's Jali Gate area. They also allegedly fired bullets aiming at the police.
 
When police had started counter firing, one miscreant- Ganga- was gunned down. A huge police force was deployed later to the spot to bring the situation under control.
 
However, police have started investigation into the case and detained five in connection with the incident so far.
