WB: Police recover 25000 powerful detonators

Kolkata/Bankura, May 20 (IBNS): The police recovered at least 25000 powerful detonators from a car at Gangajalghati area in Bankura district of West Bengal on Tuesday midnight.

The police had received a report from the intelligence department on Tuesday night about one vehicle which was full of explosives.

After getting the information, the police had put up check points and started vehicle checking on NH 7.

The superintended of police of Bankura district Sudhir Kumar Neelakantam told IBNS: "When the police officers were checking the cars, one Tata Sumo driver fled from that area and then the police searched the suspicious vehicle and recovered those detonators which were packed inside 500 packets."

"Bomb squad team went to the spot and disposed all detonators," he said.

Bankura district police have started investigation into the case.
