We want to hear your Mann Ki Baat: Rahul says at Porbandar rally

Porbandar, Nov 24 (IBNS): Sharpening his attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the BJP veteran's backyard, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who addressed a rally in Gujarat's Porbandar on Friday morning, mocked at the former's monthly podcast Mann Ki Baat.

Gandhi said, "Congress party and I do not want to tell you our mann ki baat. We want to hear your mann ki baat."

Sounding upbeat about the Gujarat polls, he said, "The Congress will win the elections in December. Our doors will be open for you when that happens. Your mann ki baat will be heard within those doors then."

Gandhi, who was named the nation's second most popular politician by a recently concluded public poll, also accused the Prime Minister of being biased towards the rich.

"In the last few years, all of the work in Gujarat has been done for just five to ten industrialists. And those industrialists contributed to campaigning for Narendra Modi later on," he said.

Gandhi said that if elected to power, the Congress will open a separate ministry for fisheries in the state.

"There should be a separate ministry for fisheries in Gujarat. And if Congress comes to power in Gujarat, we will do this," the Gandhi scion added.

Taking on industrialists, he held them responsible for causing damage to water bodies.

"Did the fishermen cause the pollution in the water bodies? No, the big industrialists did that," he said.

Gandhi also spoke about demonetisation, stating that it was a trick to convert black money into white.

"The common people stood in line during demonetisation, Did anyone ever witness a suited man stand in the queue? No, they were already inside the AC cabin, after getting access through the back door," he said.
