'We will meet in the court of law': Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's response to Rahul Gandhi's tweet on ex-Congress leaders

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has hit out at Rahul Gandhi, who in a tweet linked turncoats to Gautam Adani and his company. Rahul Gandhi mentioned Sarma along with several other leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiran Reddy, and Anil Antony, who quit Congress.

“It was our decency to never have asked you about where you have concealed the proceeds of crime from the Bofors and National Herald Scams and how you allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to escape the clutches of Indian justice multiple times. Anyway, we will meet in the court of law,” Sarma tweeted.

Replying to Sarma’s tweet, his cabinet colleague Ashok Singhal said: “Rahul Gandhi’s usual routine—Make patently false allegations, get admonished by the court, tender an apology, lose the next election. Rinse and repeat.”

Rahul Gandhi has made his first public response to leaders leaving the Congress party, by tweeting that they are "turncoats" linked to Gautam Adani.

The Gautam Adani-led conglomerate has been under scrutiny for allegations of stock manipulation, and Gandhi mentioned leaders such as Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiran Reddy, and Anil Antony in his tweet.
