West Bengal Crime: Arms factory inside a house busted in S 24 Parganas, huge cache of arms seized in Murshidabad

Kolkata/Murshidabad, Sep 16 (UNI) In a major crackdown, police today busted an illegal arms factory at Jibontala's Moukhalai Khunkhali village in S 24 Parganas, arrested four suspects and seized huge cache of arms and ammunition.

Police said two suspects, including owner of the house Akhbar Sardar and his assistant Amir Sapui were arrestd and seized arms and ammunition and explosives early today.

Police seized three single barren guns, one airgun, a six-bore revolver, one 7 mm pistol, 10 cartridges and about 4 kgs of gun powder. Besides 6 unfinished pistols, an electric drilling machine and other arms making tools were also recovered.

Police said the factory was in operation for past four months and supplied arms and ammunition in Canning and other areas of the district.

In another raid police arrested two persons,Ali Hossain and Amir Sheikh, residents of Jharkhand, and seized arms and ammunition from them.

The duo on a motor cycle was carrying 9.9mm pistols, 5 pipeguns and dozens of bullets packed inside a rucksack, said Murshidabad district police super Mahesh Kumar.
