Howrah/IBNS: A local Jagannath temple at Manikpur village in Howrah's Sankrail had sought permission to hold Rath Yatra in the area which was denied by the local police, citing the law and order situation.

The temple committee moved Calcutta High Court, seeking permission to hold the procession.

The state government on Monday submitted a review petition on the judgement.

While hearing the matter, HC Justice Rajasekhar Mantha slammed the state government as well as the local police and rejected the review petition.

The court also denied changing the Rath Yatra's route.
