West Bengal witnesses complete anti-Covid-19 lockdown today

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal is witnessing a complete lockdown to stem the spread of Novel Coronavirus or Covid-19 on Thursday.

The state government has announced a complete lockdown in any two days of a week.

The government has so far announced lockdowns on Jul 23, 25 and 29.

The banks will remain closed on all Saturdays in the state.

With the highest single-day spike of 2,291 infections and 39 deaths, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in West Bengal on Wednesday mounted to 49,321, including 18,450 active cases, 1,221 deaths and 29,650 discharges.

Besides the complete lockdown, the stricter lockdown in all containment zones will continue across the state of close to 10 crore people.
