Why does ex-Pakistan Army leader wants Ahmed Patel as CM of Gujarat: Modi

| | Dec 11, 2017, at 03:29 am

Banaskantha, Dec 10 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday alleged that Pakistan was interfering in the ongoing Gujarat Assembly elections.

He also asked for explanations from the Congress that whether its top part leader recently met leaders from Pakistan.

Addressing the rally in Gujarat, Modi questioned the alleged appeal by former director general of the Pakistan Army, Sardar Arshad Rafiq, that senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel be made the Chief Minister of the state.

"The same Mani Shankar Aiyar, who insulted Gujarat, held secret meetings with Pakistan High Commissioner. What was the reason? Why are people who previously held high posts in military-intelligence establishment of Pakistan writing that we should help make Ahmed Patel the CM," Modi said.

Second phase of polling in Gujarat will take place on Dec 14.

First phase of polling took place on Saturday.
