Why is China praising Modi? Asks Rahul in fresh attack to PM

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked Narendra Modi once again over the India China faceoff and questioned why Beijing is praising the Prime Minister during this conflict.

"China killed our soldiers. China took our land. Then, why is China praising Mr Modi during this conflict?" Rahul tweeted sharing a news item showing Chinese social media lauding the PM’s comments on the border tensions at Friday’s all-party meet.

During an all-party meeting on India-China face-off at Ladakh, Modi last Friday said that neither anyone crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and entered the country nor any of the posts have been captured while assuring that the Indian soldiers are capable of protecting the borders.

A day later in a clarification, the Prime Minister’s Office had said Modi’s remarks had focused on the June 15 face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers at the Galwan Valley.

“The Prime Minister’s observations that there was no Chinese presence on our side of the LAC (Line of Actual Control) pertained to the situation as a consequence of the bravery of our armed forces,” the statement had said.

On Sunday, Rahul accused the NDA government at the Centre of surrendering Indian territory.

In a post on Social media, Rahul said, ''Narendra Modi is actually 'Surrender Modi'.”

The Congress MP had posted on his Twitter handle a news article which looks at India’s policy towards China.

The article in the Japan Times is titled 'India’s appeasement policy toward China unravels'.

Rahul has been constantly attacking PM Modi on the border standoff with China.

More than four decades after the last fatality occurred during a conflict at the India-China border, at least 20 Indian personnel were killed in the conflict with the Chinese military at the Galwan Valley, which is close to Aksai Chin, an area that is controlled by China but claimed by both the countries.
