Wins and losses are a part of life, says PM after India lose to New Zealand

New Delhi, July 10 (UNI): As India crashed out of the ICC World Cup 2019 after losing to New Zealand by 18 runs on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter saying wins and loses were a part of life.

''A disappointing result, but good to see #TeamIndia’s fighting spirit till the very end. India batted, bowled, fielded well throughout the tournament, of which we are very proud. Wins and losses are a part of life. Best wishes to the team for their future endeavours,'' Modi tweeted.

Chasing 240 for a place in the final, India could only score 221 before being bowled out.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted: "Though they’re a billion broken hearts tonight, Team India, you put up a great fight and are deserving of our love & respect."
