Kyoto, Aug 31 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has the vision to develop the holy Indian city of Varanasi from where he won elections in mind, was Sunday given a presentation on Kyoto, the heritage city of Japan, by the Mayor of the city, Daisaku Kadokawa.

During the presentation, Kadokawa said that he was impressed with the Prime Minister’s vision of development. The Mayor explained how Kyoto, a city with 1200 years of history, had been able to conserve its heritage.

The Prime Minister said India and Japan should work together to develop cultural heritage cities. “I would like to devote myself for the promotion of interaction between India and Japan,”  Kadokawa said.

The Prime Minister, who had a day out in the city, also met the Governor of Kyoto Prefecture,  Keiji Yamada.

The Prime Minister arrived in Tokyo this evening.
