Women security top priority: RR Patil
Mumbai, June 11 (IBNS) Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil on Wednesday defended his earlier comment on rapes and said women security is the top priority of the state government.
"I was misquoted by the media. Providing security to women is of utmost importance for the Maharashtra government," said Patil.
Earlier, Patil created a controversy by saying crimes against women are a result of declining moral values.
"Even if we provide one policeman per house we will not be able to stop crimes against women. Crimes like rape have increased due to a decline in moral values," he said.
