Yamuna water level crosses danger mark, raises flood threat in Delhi

New Delhi, July 29 (IBNS): The water level of Yamuna river has crossed the danger mark in Delhi raising the threat of a flood in the area, media reports said on Sunday.

The Delhi authorities on Saturday began  evacuation of hundreds of people who might be affected by the rising water level.

The river crossed the danger water mark due to continuous rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The residents of villages alongside the Yamuna river have been alerted about the situation.

According to the Met Department, Haryana's neighbourhood will continue to get heavy rains.
