You've gone farther than any Indian: PM Modi praises golfer Aditi Ashok for her Olympics fight

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday praised Indian golfer Aditi Ashok who fought bravely in Tokyo Olympics 2020 but missed a medal by a whisker.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister tweeted, "Well played @aditigolf! You have shown tremendous skill and resolve during #Tokyo2020. A medal was narrowly missed but you’ve gone farther than any Indian and blazed a trail. Best wishes for your future endeavours."

The Indian golfer, who finished fourth in the Olympics, scored 269 with 15-under par to finish fourth overall after four rounds in the women's individual stroke play event of the mega sporting event.

She had been in the medal contention for the most part of the event.
